We think one of the best ways to up your home coffee brewing is to start using a weighing scale. Brewing by volume (using coffee scoops or tablespoons) can vary in consistency, since coffee bean density varies, especially with different roast levels. Scales are great to use whether you're just weighing out the grounds to put in your auto drip machine, or if you're doing a manual pourover and use the scales to weigh both the grounds and the water you're brewing with.
We'll review basic coffee brewing principles (and quickly cover basic manual pourover technique), and demonstrate how using a scale can result it consistently better coffee brewing.
