Trent Rice releases Beautiful on April 7th, 2017 in association with the Cottage Recording Co. The full length album was produced by Luciano Giarrano and Trent Rice at The Cottage in Atlanta, Ga. Beautiful is one of the last recording projects to come out of The Cottage studios, a buried treasure of a dream that was a major fixture in the Atlanta music scene. The album was sonically sutured by Giarrano who was responsible for its mixing & mastering. Rice performed vocals, rhythm and lead guitar, bass, keys, piano, harmonica, and glockenspiel while also calling to the aid of Luciano Giarrano on keys, drums, bass, alternate percussion and members of Sydney Eloise and The Palms (Sydney Eloise, Damon Moon, and Chandler Galloway) for backing croons and swoons.

Beautiful rings the doorbell of modernity while at the same time evoking conversations between early garage-grunge ethos, pre-electric Dylan and outtakes from the White Album. Rice largely performed the album live, preferring to track the bulk of his lead vocals and the sandpaper jangle of his six string shooter on single, full takes. “It’s OK” was in fact recorded on an iphone in Rice’s kitchen while you can hear the pitter patter of his young daughter in the background.

The album is an earnest statement all on its own though the songs themselves maintain self identity amidst the diametric condition of the space age primate. Each one has been crafted by the watermarks of Rice’s memories and present moments as a father, a husband, a musician, a surgeon, and a human on an empathic conquest to explore the heart. The cultivation of Rice’s native frequencies and melodic labors of love create an electrifying earprint that is truly, ‘Beautiful.’
